Covid-19: Schools Announce Closures, Schedule Adjustments For Wednesday, March 11

Westchester County

The Harvey School, Katonah: Classes and after-school activities have been canceled for the remainder of the week leading into spring break, from Tuesday, March 10 to Friday, March 13.

Lakeland Central School District: Advised to close because of a direct COVID-19 connection. 

Peekskill City School District: Several students within one Peekskill Schools’ family have been ordered to quarantine by health officials.

Pelham Public Schools: Will be closed Friday, March 13. The district said: "While we are still not aware of any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pelham, we recognize that is likely to change in the near future. While any of these issues on their own would not warrant a school closure, the totality of these circumstances has caused unique concern for our district."

Scarsdale Public Schools: Remain closed through Wednesday, March 18 after a middle school faculty member tested positive for COVID-19.

Windward School, White Plains: All divisions of the school are closed for students, parents, and guardians from Tuesday, March 10 through the end of spring break.  Classes are scheduled to resume at the conclusion of spring break on Monday, March 30.

Three Schools Near Young Israel In New Rochelle Will Be Closed for Two Weeks

New Rochelle High School, Albert Leonard Middle School and William B. Ward Elementary School: Closed from Wednesday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 25

Rockland County

East Ramapo Central School District: closed - Ramapo High School, Pomona Middle School and Hempstead Elementary School each had one student test positive for coronavirus. All public schools and the Administration Building are closed on Wednesday, March 11 to continue to sanitize all buildings and to formalize the district’s continuity plan.
